CIEA’s core programs are the the Mercury Tribal Health Program, Tribal Self-Advocacy Program and the Native Youth Environmental Leadership Program. A fourth program the Global Mercury Program links California Tribes with the Minamata Global Mercury Treaty.

Together these programs empower California Indian communities to practice subsistence fishing cultures, avoid mercury and PCBs in fish, self-advocate for cleanup of California lands and waterways, and train the future generation to be environmental stewards.
