Character Lab is a nonprofit organization that discovers and promotes conditions that support children’s social, emotional, academic, and physical well-being.
What We Do
Science
Character Lab Research Network makes school-based research fast, frictionless, and fruitful. Students and educators in our national consortium of innovative middle and high schools work closely with leading researchers on original studies that illuminate how to help kids thrive.
They make scientific insights accessible through online Playbooks and Tips of the Week. Playbooks are written by experts on specific character strengths. Each includes a curated set of evidence-based resources, including recommended curricula, videos, and books.
Each Tip of the Week contains 60 seconds of actionable advice in the form of a personal letter. Usually written by Angela Duckworth, the Tip of the Week is always fact-checked and approved by the scientists whose work is highlighted. Read the latest Tip of the Week.
They forge strategic partnerships to integrate scientific insights into existing educational media, products, and services.
