As a socio-cultural association, they have been organizing art and cultural events in the north of East Belgium since 1991 with the motivated commitment of 80 volunteers and 18 professional members.
Music, literature and street theatre festivals, a summer workshop as well as numerous concerts, theatre performances, cabaret, indoor festivals, art exhibitions, etc. They are always looking for synergies between art genres, artists and audiences and surprise with alternative event concepts. This orientation is also hidden behind our name: Chudoscnik is the Russian name for artist and Sunergia is the ancient Greek word for fusion.
They have been committed to expanding the cultural infrastructure in Eupen for years. In particular, they are committed to the Old Slaughterhouse, a meeting place with a national appeal. In March 2015, TILIA, the autonomous municipal administration of the city of Eupen, entrusted us with the management of the Old Slaughterhouse cultural center. In 2019, the contract was extended for a further six years.
They are active in the employers' associations for the socio-cultural sector in East Belgium (AGV PK. 329) and in the City Marketing Council of the City of Eupen. They also cooperate with a large number of organizations, both regionally and nationally.
They are constantly creating new synergies between art disciplines, artists and audiences.
Their goal is to enrich the cultural life in Eupen and the region by organizing a variety of activities, to promote encounters and to create space for synergies and experiments.
One focus is on contemporary forms of expression. They want to give regional, national and international artists the opportunity to produce their work. This applies equally to newcomers and established artists.
They want to arouse interest in art, stimulate creativity and offer a broad population access to art and culture. In addition to artistic quality, creative and alternative event concepts are given high priority.
Social engagement, networking and the management of a suitable infrastructure as a cultural center with supra-regional appeal serve their goals.
