Collectrify centers equity and community in the transition away from fossil fuels in buildings and neighborhoods. The initiative supports grassroots, frontline, and base-building organizations—particularly in communities of color and low-income areas—by providing resources to advance their self-determined priorities. Through this work, Collectrify seeks transformative solutions that shift the balance of power in energy production, infrastructure, and housing ownership.

Grounded in environmental justice principles, Collectrify’s mission is rooted in community organizing and the collective building of power. These principles guide all aspects of its work and were foundational to the vision of the climate, environmental, and housing justice leaders who established the initiative. Their shared belief remains clear: the path to equitable building electrification must prioritize the needs of the most vulnerable and elevate their leadership and autonomy.

Collectrify partners with local organizations to help communities move beyond a fossil-fuel-based economy and toward healthier, more livable housing; sustainable, clean-energy employment; and inclusive, community-driven economic opportunities.
