CEFA gives the opportunity to the poorest communities to live on their land and off the land.

CEFA is a non-governmental organisation recognised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,by EU and UN. It was founded by Giovanni Bersani, great italian and european parliamentarian , and by Padre Angelo Cavagna, a pacifist priest, e by some agricultural cooperatives of Bologna area.

CEFA has been promoting sustainable agriculture for the last 45 years to free rural families from poverty. A comprehensive agriculture education will foster the development of the job market, enterprises, and cooperatives and secure the civil rights of the local communities. Furthermore, this prevents the mass abandonment of farmland and reduces migration.
