The values of SOMEȘ Water Company SA
At the date of reorganization into a regional operator - July 1, 2006 - when they took over from one day to another seven new municipalities and cities in Cluj and Salaj counties, four of them had a daily water supply program (between 5 and 12 hours a day) and network losses of 70% and even over.
It was the publicly stated objective of the Company's management that, by attracting modernization and expansion investments, all customers should soon be able to benefit from services at the same high standards. In approx. one year, the four cities had water 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The water supply of one of the cities depended on the treatment plant belonging to a private company in difficulty, which if it had gone bankrupt would have left 30,000 inhabitants without drinking water. In 2011 we inaugurated a 22 km water supply to this city, the same water of excellent quality that the people of Cluj drink, coming from Tarnita.
Starting with 1997, they accessed four major investment programs with co-financing from the European Union, these being: MUDP II, ISPA, SAMTID, SOP Environment (2007-2013) and currently they are running the fifth program within POIM (stage 2014- 2020).
All these investments had as main objective the establishment of water and sewerage networks for those inhabitants of the served area who at the turn of the second millennium did not have these vital utilities for any civilized community, the modernization of obsolete networks that create customer shortcomings, continuous quality improvement water, environment and customer service.
In 2003, the Company was the first public service in the country to develop its own Code of Ethics which defined the principles according to which the activity of Customer Relations and internal behavior must be guided / carried out. The CASSA Code of Ethics was developed in 2011 so as to correspond to the principles stipulated in GEO 109/2011 regarding the Corporate Governance of public enterprises and especially in Order no. 946/2005 for the approval of the Code of internal / managerial control, the new Code of Ethics being approved in the meeting of the Board of Directors in October 2011. In 2020 the Code of Ethics of Apa Somes SA was updated again to meet the present requirements.
