History

Computas was established in 1985 as a subsidiary of Det Norske Veritas (now DNV GL), originally called Computas Expert Systems (later abbreviated to Computas). The business idea was, as the first company in Norway, to deliver systems based on "applied artificial intelligence" (expert systems, knowledge technology) to Veritas and other customers in industry and the public sector. This has been a sustainable foundation for the development and growth of Computas to a significant Norwegian employee-owned IT company with nearly 300 co-workers and over 30 years of experience in delivering large business- and society-critical IT solutions. Their original technology base has been renewed through today's focus on artificial intelligence, machine learning and cloud-based solutions. Their history gives them unique expertise, experience and technology to take advantage of the opportunities ahead of them!

Corporate Social Responsibility

In general, there is an increasing awareness of the importance of social and environmental considerations beyond those required by law. At Computas, they focus on social responsibility in our company based on the UN Global Compact and its ten principles.
