CONAP's Mission and Vision
The MISSION OF THE CONAP is to foster and promote conservation, Protected Areas and Biodiversity, planning, coordinating and implementing policies and necessary conservation models, working together with other actors, contributing to the growth sustainable development of the country.
The VISION OF THE CONAP is that in 2032 the National Council of Protected Areas is the recognized institution for its effective work in ensuring the conservation and sustainable use of protected areas and biodiversity, contributing to the development of the natural heritage and quality of life of the nation.
Protected areas
They are those whose purpose is the conservation, rational management and restoration of wild flora and fauna, related resources and their natural and cultural interactions, which have high significance for their function or their generic, historical, scenic, recreational, archaeological values and protectors; in such a way to preserve the natural state of biotic communities, of unique geomorphological phenomena, of water sources and supplies, of critical river basins, of protective areas of agricultural soils, in order to maintain options of sustainable development.
