The Copenhagen EMS is responsible for the following:
- Emergency call-taking for health related problems (via the 112 system)
- Emergency Medical Dispatch
- Emergency ambulances
- Physician staffed prehospital critical care units
- Helicopter Emergency Medical Services
- High dependency and urgent inter-hospital transfers
- Prehospital psychiatric critical care unit
- Non-urgent patient transport
- Out-of-hours medical helpline 1813 (available 24 hours daily)
- Major Incident Medical Management (including preparedness planning)
- On-scene major incident medical commanders
- Emergency Medical Coordination Centre (EMCC)
