The Council for Global Equality is a coalition of 30 prominent U.S.-based human rights and LGBT advocacy organizations that together encourage a clearer and stronger U.S. voice on human and democratic rights concerns impacting LGBTI communities around the world.

The Council for Global Equality brings together international human rights and intersex activists, foreign policy experts, philanthropists and corporate officials to encourage a clearer and stronger American voice on human rights concerns impacting LGBT and intersex communities around the world.

The Council is a fiscally sponsored project of Community Initiatives, a San Francisco-based nonprofit organization with 501c(3) charitable IRS tax status. Members of the Council have come together in support of the Council's mission, but all decision-making authority pertaining to the Council rests with Community Initiatives. Unless a member's name or logo appears in conjunction with a particular statement issued by the Council, no endorsement of the statement by any member should be implied.
