The Council for Global Equality is a coalition of 30 prominent U.S.-based human rights and LGBT advocacy organizations that together encourage a clearer and stronger U.S. voice on human and democratic rights concerns impacting LGBTI communities around the world.

The Council is a fiscally sponsored project of Community Initiatives, a San Francisco-based nonprofit organization with 501c(3) charitable IRS tax status. Members of the Council have come together in support of the Council's mission, but all decision-making authority pertaining to the Council rests with Community Initiatives. Unless a member's name or logo appears in conjunction with a particular statement issued by the Council, no endorsement of the statement by any member should be implied.
