CVTelecom was born out of the spin-off of CTT-EP in 1994, resulting in the separation of the postal and telecommunications businesses, resulting in a public limited company, Cabo Verde Telecom. This was followed in 1995 by the privatization of CVTelecom with the entry of the strategic partner, Portugal Telecom. 

Thanks to CVTelecom, Cabo Verde has a Telecommunications infrastructure based on the concepts of Security, Quality and Digitization with a customer base, surpassing 60 thousand customers with telephone access.
