About

The Administrative Department of the Presidency of the Republic, has a special nature and sets out the functions, purpose and principles of the organization, which has a structure and nomenclature of its dependencies and jobs in line with the same.

It corresponds to the Administrative Department of the Presidency of the Republic, assist the President of the Republic in his capacity as Head of Government, Head of State and Supreme Administrative Authority, in the exercise of his constitutional and legal powers and provide the necessary administrative support for said finish.

Vision

The Presidency of the Republic will be the first State entity, a model of public management, transparent and international reference, aimed at the effective coordination of the government plan for the construction of a social pact, based on equity, with an innovative, flexible mentality , open to technological change and entrepreneurship.

Functions of the Presidency of the Republic

  1. Assist the President of the Republic, in his capacity as Head of State, in his work of coordinating the different organs of the State so that they collaborate harmoniously in achieving their objectives.
  2. Organize, direct, coordinate and carry out directly, if necessary, the necessary activities demanded by the President of the Republic, for the exercise of the constitutional powers that correspond to him, in relation to the organs of the State that integrate the branches of power public and other state bodies, autonomous and independent.
  3. Support the President of the Republic in his duty to guarantee the rights and freedoms of all Colombians.
  4. Organize, assist and coordinate the necessary activities required by the President of the Republic, for the exercise of the constitutional powers that correspond to him as Head of State and supreme administrative authority.
  5. Advance the actions as instructed by the President of the Republic, for the efficient and harmonious actions of the Government, representing it, when required, in the orientation and coordination of the public administration and its immediate collaborators.
  6. Coordinate relations between the President of the Republic with territorial entities, the private sector and social organizations.
  7. Coordinate the activities of the Executive Secretariat in the Councils, Committees or other bodies of consultation, advice, coordination or support that depend directly on the Office of the President of the Republic.
  8. Disseminate the acts of the National Government and coordinate regarding an adequate dissemination of government management.
  9. Provide support to the President of the Republic in the diagnoses, studies, analysis and other activities that contribute to the formation of criteria, concepts or formulations that he wishes to define.
  10. Provide guidelines for the evaluation of the impact of government policies against the strategic objectives of each area and propose the appropriate institutional arrangements, vertical or transversal, aimed at strengthening the capacity of National Government entities to formulate and execute public policies of strategic sectors.
  11. To advance the study of constitutionality, legality and convenience of the different bills, decrees and administrative acts of competence of the President of the Republic.
  12. Provide the logistical and administrative support required by the exercise of presidential powers and functions.
