Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre (ERCC)
Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre was established in 1978 and over the last 39 years they have provided emotional and practical support, information and advocacy to thousands of survivors of sexual violence.
They are a specialist agency providing support to survivors in Edinburgh and the Lothians – they have an outreach support service in East Lothian and Midlothian. The centre is staffed entirely by female workers who are trained to a high standard and share the view that violence against women and children is an abuse of power and should not happen.
In 2012 they received the Investment in Volunteers Award and in 2014 ERCC celebrated the 35th anniversary at a special reception at the Scottish Parliament.
ERCC will listen, believe and support young people aged 12 -18 and women of any age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation (lesbian and bisexual women), disability, gender identity, religious and cultural background.See more
