Education for Employment (EFE) is a network of locally-run, affiliated not-for-profit organizations that provide young people in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) with tools to start a job, build their future and give back to their communities. Youth unemployment in MENA is the highest in the world; nearly twice as high as the global average. Since 2006, EFE has impacted thousands of lives across the region.
EFE creates tailored training programs for jobs that are precommitted by their business partners. Their graduates receive training in vocational and professional skills that are directly related to job opportunities.
EFE listens to youth in the MENA region and to the market. They provide youth with one of their highest priorities – concrete jobs – rather than training without a job outcome. They provide companies with qualified human talent based on intensive, interactive one to three month training. EFE’s public-private partnership model connects diverse stakeholders to bring youth closer to the market and to bring the market closer to youth.
Locally-run affiliated non-profits in the EFE Network are based in Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, Morocco, Yemen and Tunisia ( EFE Tunisia ). A sister European foundation, the Fundación Educación para el Empleo (EuropEFE), operates from Madrid, Spain.
