EMI is a network of Christian design professionals who develop people, design structures, and construct facilities which serve communities and the Church. The vision is to see people restored by God and the world restored through design.
EMI exists to transform lives by providing hope to poorest of the poor.
EMI are a Christian ministry that designs facilities that serve the poor in developing countries. These facilities (including hospitals, orphanages, schools, clean water projects and more) directly impact communities by meeting physical needs and communicating God's love in a practical way. They partner with Christian workers, pastors, and other non-profits who have a vision to help the poor and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. From offices around the world, over 100 staff and interns labor to bring the Gospel to the poorest and least reached peoples on earth.
To produce designs, they blend the team of in-house project managers with talented volunteer architects, engineers, land surveyors and construction managers recruited from around the world. These volunteers donate their time and travel costs to join teams, adding their expertise and insight to give the clients the best designs possible.
Since 1982, they have worked on over 1,000 relief and development projects in 90+ countries. Last year, EMI worked on 83 projects, closed out many others and donated over 63,000 hours in services to the client partners.
EMI is a registered U.S. 501(c)3 non-profit organization
