Fundación Carvajal is a nonprofit organization created in 1961 through the donation made by the Carvajal family of 23% of the shares in the Carvajal group to the Foundation, making it its biggest shareholder to promote improvement in most in need communities’ life quality of Valle del Cauca (Colombia).
Currently, the Foundation develops interventions in the Aguablanca District (Communes 13, 14 and 15) and Hillside Area (Commune 18 and Montebello village) from the city of Santiago de Cali and in 14 municipalities in the Valle del Cauca through projects and income generation programs, education and housing that run under alliances with entities of public and private sector.
Vision
To be an institutional leader in the development of innovative programs and projects that promote human and social welfare through application of the best management tools. The programs and projects will have educational, social, scientific, cultural, and sports purposes, and will involve any other field that complies with the premise of always benefiting the least-favored sectors of the community. Its specific areas of action are those of social priority in Cali and the Department of Valle del Cauca, but they can also be projected nationally and internationally through consulting. In special circumstances, such as calamities or disasters or requests from the highest levels, the specific areas of action can be extended to other places outside of Cali and the Department of Valle de Cauca.
THEIR PROGRAMS
Income generation
Generates and promotes models of intervention that contribute to local development through income generation – focused on the most vulnerable communities in Cali and Valle del Cauca.
Education
Through partnerships that seek to complement the efforts of governmental and nongovernmental agencies, we direct our efforts to develop processes for improving the quality of education among vulnerable communities in Cali and Valle del Cauca
Housing and Urban Environment
Carvajal Foundation has promoted since the mid-80s the construction of housing for low-income families through their own self-help in Cali and Valle del Cauca
Corporate Projects
This area coordinates with the different programs of Fundación Carvajal, offering comprehensive development through the management of social and communitarian intervention processes, and contributing to the improvement of the quality of life of the target population
