FUNDATEC is a private entity of public utility and non-profit, created in 1987 by a visionary group of officials from the Technological of Costa Rica (TEC), led by the then rector MBA. Arturo Jofré V. who decided to establish a Foundation, for the university, protected by the Foundations Law and was born with the aim of expanding and improving the services that the TEC provides to different sectors of Costa Rican society.

It manages the services offered to third parties, with the support of TEC's professional and infrastructure resources. These services are designed and adapted to the needs of the companies, institutions and applicants.
