Generation

About

Worldwide, more than 75 million young people are unemployed. But many employers can’t find people with the skills they need for entry-level jobs. Generation is an independent nonprofit founded in 2014 by McKinsey & Company to help bridge this gap—at speed and scale.

Mission

Their mission is two-fold: to empower young people to build thriving, sustainable careers and to provide employers the highly-skilled, motivated talent they need. They have a skills-training methodology that they believe can serve hundreds of thousands—and eventually millions—of unemployed and underemployed young people. And they’re proving that this training creates real business value for employers, and lasting career impact for participants—so everyone has the incentive to invest in skills.
