UNIFYING PLATFORM

Global Focus is a platform for more than 80 Danish public organizations that engage in global development, environmental and humanitarian activities.

In a time of disruption, global crises and reorientations, Global Focus' role is to be a unifying, relevant, focused and effective platform which, through cooperation and dialogue, strengthens Danish civil society's influence and capacity to promote a fairer and more sustainable world.

Global Focus' contributes to securing the role of our members as absolutely central players in the field of development. They have the task of bringing together their members on common interests, agendas, learning, exchanges of experience and, not least, action. Together they can navigate and influence changes, we can maintain our position in Danish development policy, strengthen equal and trust-based cooperation with their partners in developing countries and maintain the great support of the Danes for development cooperation.

Global Focus is the secretariat for the interdisciplinary network 2030 panel, which aims to support the Danish Parliament's 2030 network and promote the UN's 17 Global Goals for sustainable development. They participate in the 2030 panel as representatives of civil society as a whole.

Global Focus is also part of Concord Europe , which works to increase coherence between the EU's development policy areas.

VISION

The vision is a peaceful, just and sustainable world. A world where values ​​of equality and freedom are manifested in social justice and human rights for all. Where poverty is eradicated, conflicts are handled peacefully, and where economic and political interests are balanced and regulated by strong democratic structures and rights. A world where the UN's global goals are realized and where coexistence takes place in climate and environmental balance.

MISSION

Global Focus' mission is to strengthen and unite the Danish and international civil society in order to realize the vision in alliances with other partners and actors. They see a strong, trust-inspiring and visionary civil society with impact as a prerequisite for achieving their vision.

VALUES

A strong civil society is unwavering in its values ​​of freedom, justice and rights, and is visionary in its ability to mobilize, form partnerships, create solidarity alliances and achieve results.

THEY SEEK TO REALIZE THEIR VISION BY:

• To contribute to professional development, i.a. via strong coordination with a view to optimizing capacity development of the Danish aid professional CSO environment.
• To contribute to joint international engagement in European and global civil society networks and movements.
• To create an umbrella for information and joint campaigns.
• To contribute to common interests in relation to Denmark, the EU and the UN, in relation to terms, framework conditions, etc. of importance for the association's vision.
• To constitute a strong political voice, internationally and in the Danish debate, on environmental and development policies, also in the humanitarian field.
