Global Grassroots is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 2004 that supports Conscious Social Change for women and girls in post-conflict countries.

They honor the inherent wisdom in women to know what their communities need and how best to meet that need.

The women with whom they work with, often marginalized and living in deepest poverty, are the least likely to have access to the resources necessary to address issues facing women and girls, such as domestic violence, water issues, and illiteracy.

They provide the training, skills, resources, and support vulnerable women need to advance mindful social change in their post-conflict communities.

They believe that a woman who has the capability, resources, power, and courage to initiate positive change for herself and others is one of the most effective means of achieving this change.

They currently work with women of all ages in Rwanda and Northern Uganda to bring safe, clean water access to their communities thereby solving a number of social issues impacting women and girls.

Their mission is to catalyze women and girls as leaders of Conscious Social Change in their communities.

Conscious Social Change is a design methodology that employs mindfulness throughout the process of designing a social solution. Global Grassroots operates a social venture incubator for undereducated women in post-conflict Africa. Through our programs, emerging change agents learn to leverage their own assets, gifts, and passions to benefit the common good. Their solutions are designed to be innovative, sustainable, and impactful at the systemic and root levels of a social issue.

Their long-term vision is that all vulnerable women and girls will have the capacity and resources to take their own ideas to fruition as sustainable, impactful and mindful organization in their own community. They hope to influence the social sector to advance change more mindfully and that Conscious Social Change will represent a new movement for collaborative change worldwide.
