About

Indela (Initiative for digital rights in Latin America) funds and supports organizations that work to advance digital rights in Latin America. In a world where the border between physical and digital worlds is increasingly blurred, digital rights have become crucial to fully exercise citizenship and agency in society.

Led by Avina Foundation, Luminate and the Open Society Foundations, and supported by Ford Foundation and the IDRC (International Development Research Center), we aim to strengthen the regional digital rights ecosystem and work toward a united vision of a more free and fair society.

The values that guide them

BOLDNESS AND INNOVATION
They want to support a dynamic field that is equipped to effectively advance a transformative view for the region.

LATIN AMERICAN PERSPECTIVE
They want to offer support that is meaningful and relevant to Latin America and its unique needs. In other words, they seek to provide funding that is fit for purpose, as opposed to the other way around.

COMMITMENT AND INTEGRITY
They have a deep commitment to fundamental rights and their advancement and want to support actors that do too.

DIALOGUE AND CONNECTION
They want to encourage a sophisticated conversation on digital rights and support the field to connect with one another to advance their strategies.
