Infinis Energy plc is a 100% UK-based renewable power generator. Infinis is one of the leading independent renewable power generators and developers in the UK; they focus on developing, constructing and operating renewable power plants that deliver clean and sustainable electricity.
In the year to 31 December 2014 Infinis produced approximately 5% of the UK’s renewable power. It is also the largest generator in the UK landfill gas-to-electricity market, continuing to set new standards in operational excellence. They operate a growing portfolio of landfill gas and onshore wind plants across the UK, employing approximately 370 people across 137 operating sites with an aggregate generating capacity of 589 MW.
They generated over 2.5 TWh of renewable power in 2014/15, enough to power over 500,000 households in the UK. They are also actively investing in the development of an organic onshore wind pipeline with a target to build-out an additional 130-150 MW by March 2017, of which 109 MW is already under construction.
Their large network of embedded generation plants puts us in close contact with local communities. They are actively engaged with them and ensure their operations are in full compliance with local environmental and planning requirements. Every year their operating wind farms contribute into local community funds which provide financial support to projects relevant to the host communities.
Their continued investment in new capacity supports the UK’s carbon emission reduction targets, contributing to a better future for all.
The power generation sector in the UK will be fundamentally re-shaped over the coming decade. The retirement of old coal and gas plants to meet stringent emissions regulations and the UK's EU obligation to generate at least 15% of its energy from renewable sources by 2020 create new opportunities for a company with the right strategic vision, access to funding and ambition to become a leading player in an industry traditionally dominated by a handful of large utilities.
Infinis is keen to continue to expand its diversified portfolio of embedded renewable power generation activities, thereby reaping substantial synergies at operational, commercial and overhead level. As the second largest renewable electricity generator in the UK, they are passionate about the operational excellence.
As they continue to expand renewables footprint, they are committed to building strong partnerships with local communities and other stakeholders who stand to benefit from investments and to ensuring the best working conditions for employees. With these interests rightly balanced, a lot of hard work and a winning company culture, they are confident drive will enable us to both create value for shareholders and make a significant contribution towards the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the UK.
