IDEAS was formed in October 2007 as a member-owned consulting business, dedicated to developing the capacity of organizations, institutions, and governments working in the health and social sectors. Our focus is on primary health care, emphasizing maternal, child, and reproductive health.
We collaborate with organizations that serve the most disadvantaged populations – rural, poor, migrant and uninsured. Our health experience includes child survival, maternal health, reproductive health, HIV-AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, and chronic diseases.

EXPERIENCE
IDEAS has brought together an exceptional group of health development experts who offer a diverse range of technical capacity-building expertise in health policy and planning, quality assurance, supply chain manaagement, health financing, financial management, public-private partnerships, data for decision-maiking, and monitoring and evaluation.
Our technical experience lies in strengthening the management of the complex interdependent issues which challenge health systems. Although the strength of health systems is receiving renewed emphasis by major donors concerned about the sustainability of their disease-specific programs, IDEAS staff members have promoted sustainable systems for many years.
A substantial portion of our work has been in support of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. In 2007, the US Government established the Grant Management Solutions (GMS) project to provide urgent, short-term technical support to countries receiving grants from the Global Fund and experiencing difficulty in managing their grants.
Several IDEAS staff members are frequent GMS consultants. They work with Country Coordinating Mechanisms (CCMs) and Principal Recipients (PRs) to assist Global Fund grantees by strengthening governance and leadership, financial and grants management, and monitoring and evaluation.
The valuable contributions of IDEAS to this initiative are demonstrated by repeated requests for our staff members to serve on GMS teams in eleven countries.
