The Institute of Support to the University of Pernambuco Foundation - IAUPE was created in 1999 by the rector of the University of Pernambuco - UPE, Prof. Emanuel Dias de Oliveira e Silva, with the purpose of carrying out: planning and projects of teaching, research, extension, consultancy and consultancy for UPE in the national and international scope, besides conducting public competitions and giving administrative support, being able also to relate with public or private companies.

Currently, the IAUPE is directed by Prof. Dr. Roberto Alves dos Santos, being a non-profit private institution, subordinated to the Board of Directors. It is worth noting the programs and projects created as: PROLINFO, PREVUPE, PROGRAPE and others of great relevance. In addition to IAUPE Contests, responsible for public tenders.

IAUPE has been a partner of the UPE for almost 19 years, and throughout this period has been effectively and effectively fulfilling its contribution objectives for society and for the region.

IAUPE distinguishes itself in the provision of its services due to the fact that it has the structure of the UPE and its highly qualified personnel, made up of professors and researchers with vast experience in various fields of knowledge. When necessary, in addition to its team, IAUPE has sought, in the national and international market, partnerships with other institutions or specialized personnel, aiming to maintain the high standard of service and quality of its services.

IAUPE has already entered into several contracts and agreements with the Government of the State of Pernambuco, among others with the Secretaries of Social Defense, Planning, Education and Culture, with the State Attorney General's Office, AD-DIPER, DETRAN, CONDEPE-FIDEM Agency and FUNDARPE. With the Federal Government, it carried out work in INCRA, FINEP, FUNASA and the MINISTRY OF NATIONAL INTEGRATION. He has also extensive experience in municipal work, having developed projects in the Prefectures of Recife, Olinda, Cabo, Petrolina, Caruaru, Garanhuns, among many others, which proves the capacity and technical-scientific competence of this entity linked to the University of Pernambuco.
