About

The National Telecommunications Research and Training Institute - INICTEL, was a Decentralized Public Organization of the Communications Subsector of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, with legal status, administrative, economic and technical autonomy; created by Decree Law No. 19020 General Telecommunications Law, of November 9, 1971 and by Decree Law No. 19984 of April 13, 1973, establishes its organization and its general functions.

By Supreme Decree No. 013-93-TCC, INICTEL was declared of national interest and of strategic importance, for its research activities, specialized training, execution of studies and projects in the area of ​​telecommunications.

INICTEL in 2006 fulfilled 33 years of institutional life, promoting the development of telecommunications in our country, prioritizing the implementation in rural areas and extreme poverty.

On August 17, 2006 through Supreme Decree No. 030-2006-MTC, approve the merger by which the functions of the National Institute of Research and Training of Telecommunications - INICTEL, in terms of training, professional training, specialization of studies, projects and research are transferred and absorbed by the National University of Engineering.

To be a specialized institution of excellence in Telecommunications, generator of synergy between the State, the scientific and academic community and the productive sector of the country.

Purpose:

Encourage the efficient, intensive and inclusive use of Information and Communication Technologies, as well as the dynamism of supply and demand of professionals or specialized services of technological innovation, in a modern society with a growing quality of life for the population.
