Mission and vision
Vision:
"Consolidate the National Youth Institute as the benchmark in terms of youth, both for young Chileans and those who work on the issue, as well as for all actors in society"
Functions
According to Law 19,042, the following specific functions are established:
- Study and propose to the President of the Republic the policies and general plans that must be made, to diagnose and find solutions to youth problems, covering the entire national territory.
- Study and propose to the President of the Republic legal initiatives related to the situation of youth.
- Propose and promote specific programs for young people in all fields in which the State administration acts.
- Stimulate the knowledge and participation of young people, promoting and financing studies, jobs, campaigns, seminars and other similar initiatives.
- Coordinate with public services and organizations, as well as with private entities, the execution of approved plans and programs, ensuring compliance and evaluating their results.
- Maintain and develop an information, guidance, technical support and training service aimed at improving the actions of public officials and other entities in the areas of the youth sector.
- Link with any institution or person, nationally and internationally, whose objectives are related to youth issues, allowing and developing the conclusion of agreements to implement projects or actions of common interest.
