About

The Asociación Interétnica de Desarrollo de la Selva Peruana (AIDESEP) is the spokesperson organization of the indigenous peoples of the Peruvian Amazon that works for the defense and respect of their collective rights. We carry out actions to expose their problems and present their alternative development proposals according to their cosmovision and lifestyle.

AIDESEP is led by a National Board of Directors elected periodically every 3 years for its bases: 9 decentralized regional organizations, located in the north, center and south of the Peruvian jungle.

In turn, it has 109 federations that also participate in the elections through the National Congresses. These represent 1,809 communities where more than 650,000 indigenous men and women live grouped into 19 linguistic families.
