In 1918, José Cartellone, Italian immigrant, founded the company which was originally devoted to the construction of pools, tanks and wine presses for wineries in the province of Mendoza. In 1960 the company became José Cartellone Construcciones Civiles S.A. and in 1969 it faced a solid plan of diversification into different areas such as food and beverages, public utilities, generation of electric power, transport and road concessions extending its activities to South America, Central America and the Caribbean.

JCCCSA is specialized in hydroelectric power works, transmission lines, aqueducts, irrigation works, roads, bridges, tunnels, projects for the oil, mining and port industry. The company does business in Argentina, The Bahamas, Brazil, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, United Arab Emirates, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Panama, Peru and Trinidad and Tobago.
