Help us help
We help socially disadvantaged people in Denmark. But we can't do it without your support.
About the Church's Cross Army
Homeless, poor, and lonely people can get help at the Church of the Army's ward.
The Church's Army is a relief organization that, on the basis of denominational values, performs social work in Denmark. Since 1912 we have helped socially disadvantaged people in Denmark - homeless, addicts, mentally ill, lonely, poor.
We have 450 employees, including operates hothouses, hostels, children's families and counseling services in 29 cities throughout Denmark. In many cities, there are cross-army priests who offer talks, worship, and ecclesiastical acts. Our approximately 9,000 volunteers help with the social work and operate the 250 recycling shops that help fund the relief work.
The work of the Church's Cross Army is constantly evolving, so we can be where the need is greatest. This is why various initiatives have been in place since 1912, depending on how society has developed. For the time being, e.g. greater and greater need for our offer to poor and vulnerable families with children.
Caring, Presence and Respect
Our work rests on the Christian view of humanity and is based on the values of care, presence and respect. Every human being is unique and valuable in itself. Therefore, our mission is to protect our fellow human beings by providing basic assistance and by protesting against abatement and abuse.
The Church's Cross Army is a member of Eurodiaconia, a network of European churches and ecclesiastical NGOs that help vulnerable people and work for a positive development in the social field.See more
