About

Legal Action for Persons with Disabilities Uganda (LAPD) is a non-governmental and non profit making organization.

Vision
A Uganda where Human Rights are actualised for persons with disabilities (PWDs). The vision of LAPD focuses on being a powerful engine for human rights and legal action in Uganda that will contribute to a Uganda free of human rights abuse among persons with disabilities.

This vision reflects both the image of what will be achieved, and what LAPD itself will be: Empowering and facilitating persons with disabilities to have their human rights actualized implies that stakeholders have the knowledge, motivation, and tools to take the necessary steps, and the sense of partnership that will help them move forward.

Mission
Providing legal services and rights protection for indigent persons with disabilities in Uganda through legal aid and human rights protection.

LAPD’s mission, outlining what it does, with, and for whom, and why it is important, reflects the need for technical, institutional, and networking resources in the country to strengthen human rights efforts focused on persons with disability.
