History
Legal Assistance for Human Rights, AC (ASILEGAL), is a non-governmental organization that works in the defense, promotion and dissemination of human rights for groups in vulnerable situations.
Founded in 2006, it is registered with the Organization of American States and in April 2017 obtained special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). It is part of several networks and coalitions, such as the International Coalition of Organizations of the Americas, the National Network of Civil Organizations for Human Rights AC “All Rights for All and All” (Red TDT) since 2007, of the Global Campaign for the Justice Before Trial and the Citizen Observatory of the Justice System (OCSJ).
They are also part of the Pro Bono Lawyers Network of the organization Sin Fronteras, specialized in the defense of human rights of the migrant population and in May 2015 they joined the Women's Global Network for Reproductive Rights (WGNRR).
