The Burkinabe National Lottery (LONAB) is located at 436 rue de Luck and was established by ordinance No. 67025 / PRES / MFC of May 10, 1967, with the name National Voltaic Lottery (LONAVO). The current name Loterie Nationale Burkinabè (LONAB) dates from 1984, Ordinance No. 8443 / CNR / PRES of August 2, 1984. 
From the Public Establishment of Industrial and Commercial Character (EPIC), it has been transformed since November 1994, into State company under the supervision of the Ministry of Economy and Finance. 
With a capital stock created in 1967, six million francs (6,000,000 FCFA), fully financed by the State in the form of material resources, logistics, the social capital has nowadays reached the sum of one billion dollars. francs (1,000,000,000 FCFA).

 The main mission of LONAB is to support the Burkinabe State in promoting socio-economic development with a view to effectively combat poverty throughout the national territory.

Also, according to its slogan "Lots to the lucky winners, the benefits to the whole nation", the profits generated by the activities of the LONAB contribute to finance socio-economic works (Construction and equipment of hospitals, dispensaries, maternities, schools ...), sports (the Tour du Faso cycling, the national football championship and the Faso Cup), cultural (National Week of Culture, Panafrican Festival of Cinema and Television of Ouagadougou etc ...) .
