The Ministry of Agriculture is considered one of the first ministries in Sudan, as it was established before Sudan in 1953 and was called the Forestry and Forestry Authority, then it was called the Ministry of Agriculture and since that date the name changed according to the name according to the specializations and tasks, as it witnessed throughout its course the inclusion of livestock in some periods, in others, irrigation, water, and sometimes even natural resources. The National Salvation Revolution in June 1989, when it was called the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, and in 1992 the livestock was separated and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry was named, and in 2010 the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation was named, and in 2015 it was called the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
