Ministry of Food (Bangladesh)
Bengal Civil Supply Department was established in British India in order to deal with the severe famine caused by undivided Bengal and supply of food items during World War II. This department introduced statutory rationing system in the major cities: quickly expanded the rationing system. The adverse effect was noticed when the Civil Supply Department was abolished in the 5th of India after the partition. In order to deal with the situation, the food department was started in the civil supply system under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. After the independence of Bangladesh, the Ministry of Food and Civil Supplies was established in the year 12.
Later, the Ministry of Food, Disaster and Relief, Food and Disaster Management Ministry, Under the Ministry of Food and Disaster Management, they were operated under the name of Food Departments etc. The latest Cabinet Division, dated September 1, 2022, dated 8.224.322.214.171.124. The Ministry of Food and Disaster Management was restructured by letter number 212.1 (1) the Ministry of Food and (2) the Ministry of Food and Disaster Management and Relief was established when two ministries were established.
