The Ministry of Higher and Secondary-Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan was formed by the President's Decree dated January 7, 1990. Regulations on The Ministry of Higher and Secondary-Specialized Education of The Republic of Uzbekistan was approved by the enactment of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan "Concerning the Activity Modernization of The Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan” dated July 20 of 2004, № 341.

Main General Regulations:

1. The Ministry of Higher and Secondary-Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan is a government body that is supervisor to the Higher and Secondary-Specialized, Professional Education in the country. The Ministry reports to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

2. The Ministry includes the Center of Secondary-Specialized and Professional Education, the Center Education Development and affiliated Higher Educational Institutions.

What is the Ministry of Higher Education contribution to the project?

The main role of Ministry of Higher Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan will be to coordinate the communication with all Uzbek Higher Education Institutions, providing the necessary outreach to Higher Education Institutions that are not partners in the project, therefore assuring a wide project impact.

The role of the Ministry in the dissemination activities in Uzbekistan will be of major importance.

Moreover, The Ministry will help Tashkent Financial Institute in coordinating the exploitation of the project. Together with the Tashkent Financial Institute, the Ministry will be the main responsible for the creation of the exploitation plan and will coordinate the creation of centres for doctoral education at Uzbek Higher Education Institutions.
