The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade is a strategic ministry for achieving food secutiry for Egypt. It is one of the oldest ministroes in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

It was established between World War I and World War II, and its role evolved from distribution and production to supervisory role. In 2005, the Ministry of Supply and the Ministry of Social Affairs were included in the Ministry of Solidarity and Social Justice by Presidential Decree No. 421 of 2005, in order to take into account the limited and destitute of income, raise their standard of living, and improve the standard of living. Services provided to them and restructuring support to ensure that it reaches those who deserve it and link it to human development indicators.

The Ministry of Solidarity and Social Justice was separated into the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade and the Ministry of Insurance and Social Affairs in December 2011.
