Mining Operations
Century - Century mine is Australia’s largest open cut zinc mine. It began production in 1999 and is located at Lawn Hill, 250km North West of Mount Isa in the Lower Gulf of Carpentaria. Century’s trans-shipping operation is located at Karumba.Century produces zinc and lead concentrates at its mining and processing operation at Lawn Hill. Concentrates are then transferred in slurry form via a 304-kilometre underground pipeline to Century’s Port facility at Karumba for shipping to smelters in Australia, Europe and Asia.
Golden Grove - Golden Grove is an underground and open pit base and precious metals mine located in Western Australia. It is located approximately 450 kilometres north-east of Perth and 250 kilometres east of Geraldton. Golden Grove includes two underground mines and one open-pit mine. The two underground mines produce zinc concentrate, copper concentrate and a high precious metals (HPM) concentrate using sub-level stoping. Golden Grove commenced open pit operations above Gossan Hill in January 2012. Over its life, the copper open pit is forecast to produce approximately 235,000 tonnes of copper concentrate.
Kinsevere - Kinsevere is an open-pit world-class copper mine located in the Katanga province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). MMG acquired Kinsevere following the acquisition of Anvil Mining Limited in February 2012. Kinsevere uses simple low-cost mining methods to extract a resource of very high quality. Copper cathode produced at Kinsevere is sold under a life-of-mine sales agreement.
Rosebery - Rosebery is an underground polymetallic base metal mine located in the township of Rosebery in Tasmania. The operation is located approximately 300 kilometres north-west of Hobart and 125 kilometres south of Burnie. It has operated continuously since 1936 with current mine life extending to 2024.
Sepon - Sepon is an open-put copper and golod mining operation in the Savannakhet Province, central Laos.
