One Acre Fund supplies smallholder farmers with the tools and financing they need to grow their way out of hunger and poverty. Instead of giving handouts, they invest in farmers to generate a permanent gain in farm income. They measure success in their ability to make more farmers more prosperous and they always put Farmers First. Through a complete service bundle of asset-based financing that addresses the full value chain, One Acre Fund provides farmers with improved seeds and fertilizer, financing for farm inputs, agricultural training, and market facilitation—and they deliver these services within walking distance of the over 600,000 farmers they serve. Their program has proven impactful: on average, farmers working with us realize a 249% return on their investment and significantly increase their farm income on every planted acre. In 2017, 98% of farmers working with us repaid their loans in full and on time One Acre Fund is actively operating in Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania with ambitious plans to serve one million farmers by 2020. Impact One Acre Fund measures success in its ability to make more farmers more prosperous. Its program is proven impactful: farmers working with them realize on average a 249% return on their investment and significantly increase their farm income from every planted acre.   Funding One Acre Fund is a not-for-profit that is seeking to become financially sustainable. Farmer repayments cover the majority of field operating costs. The remainder of its budget is covered by grants and individual donations. It hopes to eventually sustain its programs with farmer repayments and rely on donor contributions only for program expansion.
