Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) is the second National Referral Hospital in Kenya after Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) providing specialized care to clients in Western Kenya, parts of Eastern Uganda and Southern Sudan.
Moi Teaching & Referral Hospital offers a wide range of health services both Out-Patient and In-Patient. The services are supported by modern state of the art clinical and diagnostic equipment manned by trained and qualified medical, para-medical and support staff of different cadres both from the hospital and College of Health Sciences, administered through the various Clinical Departments in the hospital. Also hospital Committees has been formed under the Deputy Director Clinical Services to enhance patient care and overall delivery of services
In order to improve on service delivery, the Hospital is currently constructing a number of facilities, with the support of both Government agencies and developmental partners. Particularly the Chronic Diseases Management Building (CDM) which will play a vital role in addressing the challenge posed by Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), including Cardiac Diseases and Cancer.
Others are; an Ultramodern Mental Health Ward, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Rehabilitation Centre, 100-bed Shoe4Africa Children Hospital and the Outpatient Wing at the Private Wing II. Some of these projects are complete and the remaining will be done by end of 2014.
