Noroeste Sustentable A.C. (NOS)

History In 2007, Sustainable Northwest AC (NOS) is integrated as a civil society organization with the purpose of contributing to the development of sustainable communities in the Northwest of Mexico, a privileged space for its richness and beauty, both natural and cultural, manifested in its deserts, coasts and seas. From the beginning, their goals have been: - Create the processes, conditions and capacities needed in local communities to maintain and restore ecosystems and fisheries in key locations in the Gulf of California, which in turn can serve as examples for the entire region. - Enable the introduction of alternatives with a market perspective and economic models that support the prosperity of local communities and reinforce the maintenance and restoration of ecosystems. - Encourage the use of tools that help actors in the region understand and accept complexity, foster systemic thinking and generate shared visions. Throughout 10 years of work, they have developed their skills and experience in: - Build a generative dialogue and active listening - Generate shared vision and understanding of current reality - Generate a thought and systemic solutions. - Leadership and Empowerment - Creation of social capital - Community development VISION A Sustainable Mexican Northwest MISSION Support coastal communities to generate a vision of the future, which strengthens their collective leadership and develops their skills and knowledge to achieve a harmonious development between their social capital, economy and environment
