NovaTerra was founded in 2013 by a group of seasoned executives with extensive project development, project financing and technical experience in mining, energy, infrastructure, and real estate. Their partners have closed and managed US$120 million Salkhit 50MW wind farm project (2012 Deal of the Year by Project Finance Magazine) and structured the deal and closed the equity financing with EBRD, FMO, General Electric and Newcom.
NovaTerra completed a US$55 million debt financing, restructuring and off-take agreement for a copper cathode plant in Mongolia, as well as numerous industry specific technical and commercial due diligence reports for international clients such as Electricite de France (EDF), SEPCO, Bechtel, Mercy Corps, Peabody among others.
NovaTerra has a deep understanding of the local market and a network of contacts within the government and business community. Their partners founded and currently chair the Business Council of Mongolia (BCM), a business advocacy group of 250 international and local companies established to promote increased trade and investment into Mongolia. BCM works closely with the Government of Mongolia, embassies, NGOs, business associations to make constructive contributions to enhancing the business environment in Mongolia.
NovaTerra is a member of the North America - Mongolia Business Council, an organization of Canadian, American, and domestic corporations, organizations and professionals invested, active or doing business in Mongolia. The NAMBC's mission is to advocate, advance and expand North America-Mongolia bilateral trade and investment to the benefit of their Canadian and American members. The organization works closely with the governments of Mongolia, Canada and the US to strengthen bilateral economic ties and to promote policy frameworks that insure transparency and a level playing field in the business climate.
