    • Produced in Partnership: Conrad N. Hilton Foundation

One Acre Fund receives the 2023 Hilton Humanitarian Prize

One Acre Fund has been announced as the 2023 recipient of the Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize.

    By Naomi Mihara // 12 September 2023

One Acre Fund has been announced as the 2023 recipient of the Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize.

The prize will provide One Acre Fund with $2.5 million in unrestricted funding to scale its work supporting smallholder farmers in Africa with financing, agricultural inputs such as seed and fertilizer, and training to increase yields and profits.

Smallholder farmers produce around a third of the world's food and therefore play a vital role in addressing the global food crisis, but they are also especially vulnerable to the effects of climate change. “No farmer should be hungry. Farmers should be ending hunger,” Peter Laugharn, president and CEO of the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, told Devex.
