The ora Kinderhilfe is a Christian children's aid. Since 1981 they take care of children in need. The name ora is originally used for "orphans, refugees and aid", meaning "orphans, refugees and aid". At the same time "ora" comes from the Latin word "orare" (praying) and means: bete! That is, they are aware of our responsibility before God. In this spirit, they are committed to justice and act in partnership with everyone involved. For as creatures of God, we all have an inestimable dignity!
What is ora Kinderhilfe?
All men are created and loved by God. So they strive to protect the children entrusted to us as siblings as in a family and to accompany their growing up. They build on lively and open relationships - as in a healthy family. And specifically, between the children they are supporting and their supporters. They advocate justice: children and adults in need deserve more than our compassion. They deserve justice. They advocate that every person can lead an independent life in dignity, freedom and peace.
How does ora childcare help children?
First of all, they do this in a very concrete way: food, clothing, medicine and school material. They build schools and hospitals, finance teachers and medical staff. They help refugees and victims of natural disasters. They attach particular importance to the fact that children grow up in a healthy and conducive environment. That is why their help is never concentrated solely on the child, but also on his environment: his family, his village, his region. This particular approach of development co-operation is called "Child Focused Community Development". One asks what children need, so that they can grow up guarded and loved. That is exactly what they are trying to provide.
Values, visions and goals of ora childcare
The ora Kinderhilfe is a Christian-transnational charity - and that means they have clearly defined values. They are the basis of all their work. They give them orientation on all important questions. And they give them the certainty necessary to change childhood.
They hear God
They spread justice
Theypromote partnership
They are Family
They live Innovation
They want to allow children a life free from want, free from force and free from violence. They want every child to grow up in a protected environment and lead us through a loving education as well as good education into a life-long future.
Vision is to become a reality
This dream is to become reality for as many children as possible. They are committed to this goal and they define concrete goals for the work in their projects:
They want every child to be fed up every day.
They want every child to attend school.
They want every child to grow up healthy
They want children free from neglect, abuse protect and preserve and danger
They want to help where help is needed urgently
Need has many faces. Development aid also.
The projects of the ora Kinderhilfe always have a claim: to alleviate the needy and disadvantaged children and the people in their environment.
To this end, they are experiencing positive developments in every country in which they operate and in every area in which they engage. And they continue to drive these developments forward and further. In order to meet the one claim:
They change children's lives!
What does it take?
Many is necessary so that children can overcome hardship and poverty: education , nutrition , health and hygiene, protection and care. Social business is also gaining in importance. Thanks to the promotion of the economy, opportunities and perspectives are being opened up in the environment of the girls and boys, but their children will soon be able to take advantage of their own families.
All of this is part of ongoing projects that help long term where long term help is needed. It is not always possible to plan the work that way. Too often, help is needed at short notice. Even then ora child support is in use. In the event of a catastrophe, we do not hesitate to help the people who suddenly fell into misfortune.
Project work worldwide.Every country is different. Every poor country has its own needs. This is also reflected in the project work. It is always adapted to the special needs of the countries and the people. That is, just as no country resembles the other, so little does a project resemble the other. But the goal remains:
They are changing children's lives.
