Plan International France was founded in 1993 to mobilize French sponsors. From the 1st year, in 1993, 20,000 godfathers joined them. Since then, the number of godmothers and sponsors has continued to grow.

Main missions:

• the public awareness of children's rights and equality between girls and boys;
• technical support for setting up, monitoring and evaluating specific programs in 13 countries . In particular, they are developing programs aimed at achieving equality between girls and boys, through education and vocational training for the most vulnerable children and young people. These programs are implemented in close collaboration with the local offices within the Plan International network.
• the plea in France with government institutions and policy makers in favor of children's rights and equality between girls and boys;
• the fundraising to finance their development programs and urgenceen for children and youth.

Plan International France has 40,000 godmothers, sponsors and donors and many partners thanks to whom they invested more than 11 million euros in development programs in the field in 2019.
