ABOUT

Pusat KOMAS is a human rights popular communications centre set up in August 1993 to empower especially the indigenous peoples, urban poor, workers and civil society organisations to advocate for human rights in Malaysia. KOMAS has produced many educational videos and publications on various human rights and social causes.

KOMAS main core programmes are as follows: FREEDOMFILMFEST, an annual human rights festival; BANGSA MALAYSIA, an award winning non discrimination programme, the CITIZENSHIP PROGRAMME, focusing on political and citizenship education; and the ORANG ASLI EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME focusing on orang asli community organising. Core programmes include training, workshops, film screenings, resource material production and advocacy.
