R.J. Burnside & Associates Limited is a Canadian multi-disciplinary engineering and environmental consulting firm established in 1970. Burnside has 10 offices located across Canada. The firm draws from a mix of approximately 380 professionals including civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers, scientists, hydrogeologists, biologists, and technologists to provide a wide range of services to their clients. As of February 2022, Burnside has been active internationally for over 28 years and in Canada for over 50 years. Burnside has worked in over 20 countries in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and Latin America.
Projects have been completed in a variety of sectors including water supply, wastewater management, sanitation, solid waste management, transportation including roads and bridges, GIS, environmental impact assessments, water resource management, renewable energy, satellite remote sensing, and hydrogeology.
Burnside has carried out assignments funded by a variety of International Financial Institutions including the World Bank, the Millennium Challenge Corporation, the International Finance Corporation, Global Affairs Canada, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Caribbean Development Bank, and the African Development Bank. Projects have also been carried out directly for foreign government ministries and institutions, as well as the private sector.
We carry out assignments related to general technical assistance, feasibility studies, Master Plans, detailed design, construction supervision, contract administration and training.
