Regional Development Agency South West Oltenia is a nongovernmental organization (NGO) non-profit public utility, established on February 28, 1999, under Law Law 315/2004 (which amended Law no. 151/1998) on development regionally in Romania and in accordance with the statute of organization and functioning, approved by the Council for regional Development South-West Oltenia (CDR SVO) . ADR SV Oltenia is part of the bodies and financial instruments, regional and national established to allow Romania EU funds absorption in pre- and post-accession.
ADR SV Oltenia is now working in Craiova headquarters and district offices in Targu Jiu, Drobeta Turnu-Severin, Slatina and Ramnicu Valcea.
Its mission is to facilitate and promote the development of Oltenia, by implementing the Regional Development Plan undertaken by the Regional Development Board and regional partners.
The main purpose is the attracting resources from outside the region in conjunction with the increased use of local resources in order to achieve social cohesion of local communities in Oltenia, improving quality of life, and increase the competitiveness of the regional economy.
To achieve its objectives, the Regional Development Agency South West Oltenia, in partnership with local government institutions and other relevant institutions in the South-West Oltenia, carry out the following main activities:
-> The implementation of regional programs and projects: technical services for the implementation of regional development programs in collaboration with the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration or other ministries we have delegated prerogatives program management ;
-> regional programming: the elaboration of the Regional Development and by contributing to developing ROP, and by coordinating achieve other strategies and studies at regional level (Regional Innovation Strategy Study on mobility at regional, etc.) or participation the local and sectoral strategies;
-> Initiatives and projects ADR SV Oltenia own. Several initiatives have been undertaken to develop key sectors identified at the regional level, such as tourism, health, automotive, agriculture.
-> Regional Marketing and Investment Promotion: developing brochures and promotional materials, trade missions for entrepreneurs advice to potential investors.
