Dubai is one of the fastest developing cities in the world, which makes the provision of high-quality infrastructure facilities an absolute imperative, and given that providing an advanced transportation network for Dubai residents occupies a prominent place in the government's agenda to improve public transport facilities and develop roads throughout the emirate to make transportation safer and smoother. 

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) was established pursuant to Law No. 17 of 2005. The Roads and Transport Authority was established to achieve the vision of the Emirate of Dubai, by planning and implementing transportation, roads and traffic requirements in the emirate, and between it and the emirates of the country and neighboring countries, with the aim of providing an effective and integrated transportation system to achieve the vision emirate and serves its vital interests.
