About

Save the Children is an international independent non-government, non-profit organization founded in 1919, working in over 120 countries worldwide. Their vision is a world in which every child attains the right to survival, protection, development and participation. Their mission is to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives.

Save the Children has worked in Afghanistan since 1976. They currently implement programs in 16 of 34 Provinces, either directly or through partners, reaching more than 700,000 children.

Save the Children in Afghanistan works closely with society on all levels. They work with children, parents, teachers, village councils, religious leaders, ministries and other national and international NGOs. Their way of working close to people on their own terms has enabled them to deliver lasting change to tens of thousands of children in the country.
