Save the Children Switzerland was founded in 2006 as an independent and politically, ideologically and denominationally independent association in Switzerland. Together with 28 other national member organizations, 56 country offices, seven regional offices and four advocacy offices, Save the Children Switzerland forms the Save the Children International network. They work in more than 120 countries and have been active internationally since 1919.
International structure
The Save the Children International Secretariat is located in London, from where the work of national organizations is coordinated, particularly in the areas of communication and strategic direction. The cooperation between Save the Children Switzerland and the Save the Children country offices (eg in Nepal) with their local staff enables efficient, long-term and locally anchored work in their project regions. In their advocacy offices, including in Geneva, recognized child rights specialists are providing groundwork to the United Nations and international organizations to ensure the safeguarding of children's rights at the international level. In addition to a close exchange of knowledge, their colleagues in Geneva are administratively supported by Save the Children Switzerland.
